Softball knocks it out of the park in Plano, Texas! Plano fields are second to none in the nation and Plano’s incredible sports support infrastructure enables us to run the best tournaments in the industry, amateur and non-traditional alike. With the support of an experienced, award-winning athletics staff, Plano produces amateur youth sports tournaments at a professional level. Tournaments return year after year to enjoy the safe, affordable park fields, hotels, restaurants, and attractions modern families enjoy.
Plano fields are the past home of a USA Softball GOLD National Championship. Summer 2023, Plano will be home of the Triple Crown Softball Texas State Championships and the returning Texas Glory Summer Shootouts.
Tournament Fields
Archgate park
Archgate Park is a uniquely-designed, multi-purpose field that is an attendee’s dream with super nice and clean restrooms, spectator covered seating and shaded areas for team gatherings. Archgate includes 7 fast pitch softball fields.
Heritage Park
Heritage Yards is Plano’s premier softball park for adult slow pitch or youth fast pitch. This state-of-the-art softball facility is home to seasonal slow pitch adult leagues and multiple fast pitch showcases. It has 9 lighted and fenced softball fields with scoreboards, shaded benches, and bleachers, plus grandstand-seating at championship field #1.
High Point Park
High Point Park is one-stop-shop sport venue designed to do a lot of everything! This multi-purpose facility plays host to soccer, lacrosse, football, softball and youth baseball. Location next to U.S. Hwy. 75 is convenient to many familiar restaurants, shops and value hotel options. High Point offers 8 softball fields.
Russell Creek
Russell Creek Park is Plano’s premier soccer park and also hosts the occasional lacrosse or football tournament. A little known fact, but nonetheless very impressive, Russell Creek is the only park in North America having seven cricket fields in a single location. So, in addition to a busy cricket league schedule, the park is home to at least one big-purse international cricket tournament each year. CRAYOLA EXPERIENCE
With 60,000 square feet of attractions, Crayola Experience is Texas’ most colorful family destination for interactive, creative play. Families typically spend 3-4 hours exploring the 22 hands-on attractions. Kids of all ages can embark on a wonderful, whimsical adventure with such unique experiences as starring in their very own coloring pages, naming and wrapping their very own Crayola crayon, learning how crayons are made in a live manufacturing show and so much more.
DOWNTOWN PLANO ARTS DISTRICT
Named one of the top 10 best downtowns in America by Livability.com, downtown Plano offers a charming setting for a simple stroll, an afternoon of shopping, or an evening’s entertainment. Visit more than a dozen restored historic homes, and the Interurban Railway Museum, a railroad car turned urban museum offering a microcosm of North Texas railroad history right in Haggard Park. Walk along authentic brick streets to discover an eclectic collection of antique shops and boutiques selling everything from handmade jewelry to home décor to pottery. Catch a show/performance at McCall Plaza, the Courtyard Theater, or the Cox Building Playhouse, and see the artists in residence.
Fowling Warehouse
It started as a one-lane mashup of two popular sports while tailgating at the 2001 Indy 500. Today, Fowling is quickly turning into a national sensation. Fowling is a unique and entertaining game that merges football with bowling and is perfect for small or large groups. It’s as easy as throwing a football at ten bowling pins until someone knocks them all down. Fowling Warehouse’s Plano location is the first in the south, their largest venue, and the first venue with full food & beverage options! This is a perfect indoor activity for older kids and teens.
GO APE ZIPLINE & ADVENTURE PARK
Glide over the forest canopy at Plano’s Go Ape! Zip lines, Tarzan swings and suspended obstacles bring out your inner monkey and provide a fun challenge amid 800 acres of natural beauty at Texas’ only Go Ape location. Riders must be 10 years or older, at least 4-feet-7-inches tall and weigh no more than 285 pounds.
Heritage Farmstead Museum
Set on four acres, this living history museum lets visitors step back into the late 1800s and early 1900s. The property’s beautiful Victorian home and 12 outbuildings were once part of a 360-acre farm operated by colorful local resident Ammie Wilson.
Legacy West
Visitors won’t want to miss Legacy West. Opened in June 2017, this “city within a city” is the largest mixed use destination in North Texas and the perfect place to play, shop, dine, and stay. The 255-acre development boasts 415,000 dynamic square feet of open-air retail and restaurant space. Here, diners can satisfy every craving, whether for steak or a good old-fashioned milk shake, French bistro fare, a perfect plate of pasta, or a red velvet cupcake. For those who can’t decide, Legacy Hall has it all. In this one-of-a-kind artisanal food hall, visitors can wander from stall to stall to meet local purveyors and sample everything from lobster rolls to Philly cheesesteaks to gourmet marshmallows. There’s also an on-site brewery and live music stage.
Legacy West’s shopping offerings run the gamut from fashion to furnishings to cosmetics and even cars. (Think Tesla & Lucid!) Its luxury retailers include: CHANEL Fragrance & Beauty, Golden Goose, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, and Tory Burch. After a day of retail therapy, shoppers won’t have to go very far to set down their spoils, since this urban village is anchored by the new Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel. The 15 story, 304-room luxury property features a high energy lobby and bar, an on-site Asian fusion restaurant, a third floor amenity deck with a swimming pool and cabanas, fitness center, and outdoor event space.
PINSTACK
PINSTACK is North Texas’ first state-of-the-art bowling and active entertainment destination. This 50,000 square foot fun zone features a 28-lane bowling alley, a ropes course suspended 20 feet above the gaming center, two-story laser tag, bumper cars, six lanes of LED-lit rock climbing walls, and hundreds of interactive games. The facility also has a specialty restaurant featuring a chef-driven menu and craft cocktails, an outside bar area, covered patio with fire pits, gelato bar, big screen TVs and ample seating.
SOUTHFORK RANCH
Revisit memorable scenes from the television series “Dallas” at Southfork Ranch in nearby Parker or saddle up on horseback and take a trail ride through the property.
THE BOARDWALK AT GRANITE PARK
Situated across from the luxurious patio of the 299-room Hilton at Granite Park, this 30,000 square foot expanse features a variety of restaurants with patios serving burgers, gourmet biscuits, southern California boardwalk-style cuisine, brew pub fare, specialty coffee, pastries and more. There are also beachy deck chairs that afford a great view of the park’s inviting water feature and live music stage.
THE SHOPS AT LEGACY
Legacy Town Center is a mélange of homes, businesses, shops, hotels, restaurants and open spaces all in an urban village-style setting.
