Whether you are visiting Plano and the Dallas area over spring break or planning a spring staycation, we have your guide for planning the ultimate Plano adventure with the family.

Day 1

First up, head over to the Boardwalk for some breakfast at The Biscuit Bar where you have no choice but to become a biscuit fan for life – but not just any biscuits – Biscuit Bar biscuits. Walk just a few steps over and grab a cup of Pearl Cup Coffee because you’ll need to stay caffeinated for this fun-filled day.

Head over to the Shops at Legacy for some shopping (window shopping is allowed, but discouraged) at well-known and unique stores and boutiques. Work up an appetite and you’ll be ready for lunch; this time a bit more healthy at Bellagreen.

The next stop is a hit with the kids! Explore the colorful world of Crayola at the Crayola Experience. Experience 22 hands-on attractions inspired by Crayola products and their technologies. Visitors can name and wrap their own Crayola crayon, star in a coloring page, create melted wax spin-art, and learn how crayons are made in a live factory show. There are also two new attractions that debuted in Texas: Silly Selfies and Kaleidoscope.

After such a busy morning and afternoon, it’s time to have a foodie adventure and relax. Dine, drink, and discover at Legacy Hall at one of the nation’s largest and most unique food halls dedicated to serving the best-of food trends prepared by premier chefs and local artisans. The three-story, 55,000-square-foot European-style food hall, brewery and live music and entertainment venue was named USA Today’s 2019 2nd Best Food Hall in the U.S. and features 22 artisanal food stalls serving everything from elevated Neapolitan pizzas, gourmet burgers and Baja-style tacos, to worldly selections like shawarma, yakitori and bao steam buns. There you can also hang out in the Box Garden; most weekend nights have live music or other fun events.

Day 2

Rise and shine; it’s time to get your adventure on! Enjoy the fresh air at Plano’s largest park, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve a 200-acre park with hike and bike trails, a 2-mile walking trail and stunning views of the prairie and forest from the lookout tower. After a quick refresh, it’s time to brunch at Mexican Bar Co and fuel up before indoor fun at PINSTACK. PINSTACK is fun for the whole family with 28 lanes, a ropes course suspended 20 feet above the gaming center, two-story laser tag, bumper cars, six lanes of LED-lit rock climbing walls, and hundreds of interactive games.

On your way over to downtown Plano, stop at one of Plano’s award-winning ice creameries for a double scoop of your favorite cold treat. The skies the limit in the Downtown Plano Art District. Check out murals and sculptures, catch a DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) train to explore the entire Dallas area, eat at unique to Plano restaurants like Urban Crust (perfect for the whole family), release your kid’s energy at Haggard Park, shop boutiques, explore the Interurban Railway Museum and learn about Plano’s history, and even hang out at McCall Plaza for free live music and events on select nights. The Downtown Plano Arts District makes for the perfect evening!

Day 3

It’s time for breakfast and you’ll need, so make it a yummy and hardy one; a pit stop at Norma’s Cafe should do it. Have a paddle board, kayak or canoe and can bring it on your Plano getaway? You may want to experience Plano by water at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve!

There’s tons to see at this beautiful 800-acre preserve. The park also has 3.5 miles of concrete trails and 5 miles of soft trails if you prefer to run, bike, or just wander and enjoy being outside. Also at Oak Point is Go Ape, the first treetop adventure course in Texas. It includes five individual sections with rope ladders and 39 thrilling crossings. Each section takes you higher into the forest canopy, finishing with a zip line experience that is undeniably the highlight of this outdoor treetop adventure. Be sure to reserve online to make sure you get the time you want.

There’s no better way to finish your Plano trip than by enjoying an awesome restaurant out on the patio. See our list of Plano restaurants offering patio dining here.
